A Late Game Surge In The Bottom Of The Eighth Powers The Raptors To Their Third Straight Victory Against The Great Falls Voyagers
Ogden, UT — June 12, 2026 — In one of the tightest and most back-and-forth games between the Raptors and the Voyagers in the series, the Raptors were ultimately able to walk away with a 10-9 victory. The Raptors had control of the game early, however the Voyagers battled back, and it took an eighth inning surge for the Raptors to claim the victory.
Carmine Lane made his return to the lineup with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to give the Raptors the lead, 2-0. However, two hard hit singles off of the Raptors starter, Nico Saltaformaggio, tied the game up at 2-2. The Raptors retook the lead in the bottom of the third off of an error that came on a Carmine Lane hit, leading Cole Jordan and Chase Valentine to score.
Nico Saltaformaggio continued his work through six innings, however it was his toughest outing of the year. He allowed nine runs off of twelve hits, and when he left the game the Voyagers led 9-6. Nonetheless, his offense had his back and a Cole Jordan two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth got the Raptors within one.
Dylan Gardner came in for two innings, not allowing a single run and only allowing one hit, setting up his offense to make a statement in the bottom of the eighth. Entering into that inning the Raptors trailed 9-8. Chase Valentine led off the inning with a standup double, and then Cole Jordan and Carmine Lane reached on walks. It was then Tyler Ganus’ time to shine. He watched one ball sail past, and then on a 1-0 count he rocketed off a bouncing line drive up the middle that scored both Valentine and Jordan to give the Raptors a 10-9 lead.
Kaden Kneip came in to finish off the game in the top of the ninth. He induced a fly out to left for the first out of the inning, however he walked the tying run on in the next batter. Nevertheless, he forced Antonio Barranca to ground it to Chase Valentine, and on a picturesque jumping throw, Valentine turned a 6-4-3 double play to end the ball game.
The Raptors move to 3-1 in the series and 13-9 on the season. They will take on the Voyagers for game five of the series tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m.
