Ogden Raptors Announce 2022 Field Manager
Ogden Raptors Name Kash Beauchamp as 2022 Field Manager
We so pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Kash Beauchamp (Bee-Chum) as our 2022 Field Manager. Kash was born into Baseball. His father Jim spent 50 years in Professional Baseball, with 10 of those being at the Big League level, and spent many years as the Bench Coach for Bobby Cox’s Atlanta Braves, so you can bet Kash has seen it all. Kash was drafted in 1982 as get this, as the first overall pick by the Toronto Blue Jays. He began his career in Medicine Hat of the Pioneer League so he’s been though the league before. He was an All Star everywhere he played and even played alongside players like Cecil Fielder, Pat Borders, Fred McGriff , and David Wells just to name a few. As much as we love this great sport of Baseball, it’s also a game that can be cruel at times. It seemed like a lock for Kash to make the Major Leagues but the injury bug made its way into Kash’s life. While playing AAA ball for the Blue Jays, Kash suffered a major injury the day before he was to be called up to the Majors. For years after, Kash battled with injuries while still playing the game he loved, including playing for his dad at AAA Richmond in the Braves system. While battling through more injuries. Kash found himself playing for a team in the newly formed Independent Northern League in 1993. He played so well that the Reds signed him as the first Independent player ever. It seems like Kash knows how to be first at a lot of things. After playing for multiple organizations, Kash decided to begin his coaching career in 1994 with the Montreal Expos, then in 1998, he began his managing career in at the Independent league level, where he won the Championship his first season. The Independent leagues is where Kash has thrived and he remains there today. In fact, Kash doubles his time as an All Independent League Scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kash and his wife Penny are both natives of Grove, Oklahoma and they currently reside in Webb City, Missouri. This is a great pick up for us and with the connections in Baseball Kash has, we should do well filling out our 2022 roster.
