Raptors v Hawks Game 4
Ogden, UT
On a beautiful night at Lindquist Field, the Raptors churned out one of their most impressive performances of the 2024 season.
In Eli Elliott’s third professional start as a Raptor, his performance was jaw dropping, striking out 3 batters in seven innings of work, while giving up one lone run, on a solo shot in the first inning. He put the team on his back in limiting the opposing Boise Hawks to just 4 hits throughout his start, giving his team 7 crucial innings of work, while posting 6 straight zeroes on the scoreboard to end his night.
The bullpen said a well equipped thank you to Eli, and took the light work load all the way to the bank, with Brayden Bonner and Quinn Waterhouse combining for two innings pitched, only allowing one hit, and walking one batter. The pitching staff didn’t need the strikeout stuff tonight, with those three only surrendering 5 hits and one walk in their 9 combined innings of work. A full body effort, the Raptors played perfect defense, pitched to contact, and provided the run support when it mattered most, helping them on their way towards waving the victory flag for the second consecutive night.
Another night and another nearly every Raptor reaches performances, with all but two sluggers in the starting lineup reaching base. Raymond Gil was surging at the plate tonight, going 2 for 4 with two doubles, including a bases clearing 3-rbi double down the left field line. Chris Sargent also had a multi-hit performance launching long ball number 5 for RBI’s 32 and 33, giving the Raptors an early 2-1 lead.
The combination of long drawn out at bats, situational hitting, and pure dominance on the mound from Eli Elliott, padded the Raptors confidence en route to their second straight win, and arguably their most sound performance of the year. The Raptors will be looking to keep the momentum rolling into tomorrow evening's game 5 matchup, live here from the GCB Computers Broadcast Booth at 6:30 PM, from Lindquist Field.
